Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember things between pages and visits, such as whether you are signed in. Similar technologies, like local storage, work in much the same way and are covered by this policy too.

2. Essential cookies we set

When you sign in, our authentication provider Supabase sets session cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account. These are strictly necessary: the dashboard, your reports and checkout cannot work without them, so they cannot be switched off while using those features.

We set no other cookies of our own.

3. Payment

Payments run through Stripe's secure checkout. During checkout Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention and payment security. These are essential to taking payment safely and are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies.

4. Maps

Map tiles are served by Mapbox. Loading them sends standard technical requests, such as your IP address, to Mapbox so the map can render. No advertising tracking is involved.

5. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand visitor numbers and which pages are used. It is privacy-friendly by design: it sets no cookies, uses no fingerprinting and collects no personal data. Statistics are aggregated and cannot identify you.

6. No advertising cookies

AreaCheck uses no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and no social media pixels. If that ever changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

7. Managing cookies

You can view, control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Because the only cookies we set are essential, blocking them will stop you signing in and buying reports, but browsing the public map and pages will still work.
