What is new

Every meaningful change to AreaCheck, newest first.

Bug fix19 Sep 2026

Fixed a broadband section repeating itself

For some reports created, the broadband part of the report no longer shows the same coverage and take up figures three times over. This has now been fixed for all existing and future reports going forward.

Bug fix19 Sep 2026

Fixed the report's side navigation

The section menu on the left of your report now stays in view as you scroll, and correctly highlights whichever section you're currently reading.

Improvement19 Sep 2026

Better support for reduced motion and keyboard navigation

If you've asked your device to reduce motion, the score chart and page scrolling now respect that. Anyone navigating the site by keyboard will also see a much clearer indicator of where they are on the page.

Improvement19 Sep 2026

Reports are easier to read section by section

A clear visual break now separates each part of your report, so it's easier to see where one section ends and the next begins.

Improvement19 Sep 2026

Red flags are now impossible to miss

Genuine deal breakers, like an active enforcement notice or a Vacant/Derelict Register listing, now sit in their own clearly marked panel near the top of your report, with a count so you know exactly how many things to check before you sign.

Improvement19 Sep 2026

A quick scan summary now sits at the top of every report

Before you dig into the detail, you'll see your overall score, the verdict, and every scoring category at a glance, with a link straight down to the full explanation if you want it.

Bug fix17 Sep 2026

Your address is now saved automatically when you finish signing up

If you searched an address and clicked "Sign up to save this address," it used to sit there unsaved until you searched and clicked Save again yourself. Now it's saved to your shortlist automatically as soon as you confirm your account.

Bug fix17 Sep 2026

More accurate transport information in your reports

Bus and rail stops that Ireland's National Transport Authority has withdrawn are no longer counted as nearby transport in a report, so you won't be looking at a stop that no longer runs.

Improvement17 Sep 2026

Saving an address twice now tells you it's already there

If you try to save an address to your shortlist that's already saved, you'll now see "Already in your shortlist" instead of ending up with two copies of the same entry.

Bug fix15 Sep 2026

Saving an address while signing up now works better

If you searched an address on the map and clicked "Sign up to save this address," that address is now carried all the way through signup, email confirmation and onboarding, and lands you back on it afterwards. Previously it was sometimes dropped and you had to search and save it again by hand.

Improvement15 Sep 2026

Your dashboard now shows your shortlist

Signed in and saved an address before? Your dashboard now shows a shortlist strip with a quick count and a link straight through to your full shortlist, so it is no longer buried a click away.

Bug fix11 Sep 2026

Share button now reads correctly for screen readers

On the sample report, the Share button's label was dropping to just "Share" on smaller screens for anyone using a screen reader. It now always reads "Share report", properly describing what it does.

Improvement11 Sep 2026

Tidier payment confirmation screen

The "Thank you, your payment went through" heading now lines up neatly with the green tick, and the email your report is sent to is shown in full instead of partly hidden, so you can check at a glance that it's going to the right address.

Bug fix10 Sep 2026

Discount code field now appears at checkout

A promo/discount code field was missing from the report checkout page, so a discount code could never be applied. It is now visible and working.

Bug fix10 Sep 2026

Consent banner now responds properly during the guided tour

While taking the report example guided tour, clicking Accept or Decline on the cookie banner could silently fail to register on the first click. This is fixed, the banner now responds immediately every time.

Bug fix10 Sep 2026

Cookie banner no longer gets stuck on screen

Previously, the cookie consent banner could reappear on some reloads, even after Accept or Decline had already been clicked, and then stop responding to clicks. It now correctly remembers your choice and stays away on return visits.

New feature10 Sep 2026

Payment confirmation screen after buying a report

After paying for a report, buyers now see a clear "Thank you, your payment went through" confirmation showing the report address, amount paid, and email, along with a live progress view while the report is building. It opens automatically the moment the report is ready, so there is no more silent wait after paying.

Improvement8 Sep 2026

Thousands more data points added with a big database update

We've updated our database infrastructure and added a huge amount of new datapoints, including planning applications and property sales. Tens of thousands of new records added to what AreaCheck already tracks makes our reports and analysis even better. The "records indexed" counter on the homepage now reflects that growing dataset in real time, so you can see exactly how much ground AreaCheck covers before you even search an address.

Bug fix22 Jul 2026

Zoning labels now always make sense

A small number of free Area Snapshot cards were showing an internal council code instead of a readable zoning type. These now show a plain label like "Residential" or "Green and open space".

Improvement22 Jul 2026

Automatic refund if a report fails

In the rare case your AreaCheck Report can't be generated after payment, you're now refunded automatically and told straight away, no need to contact us.

New feature22 Jul 2026

Save, track and compare addresses

You can now save any address straight from the map, build a shortlist, and compare addresses side by side. Create a free account to start tracking one and we'll flag it if anything changes.

Improvement22 Jul 2026

Clearer button wording

The "Save & track" button now says exactly what it does, so it's obvious you don't need an account just to browse the map and search an address.

Bug fix26 Jun 2026

Pins now only work for real Irish addresses

if you drop a pin in the sea, a lake, or anywhere without a valid address, the map will let you know and ask you to try again on land.

Improvement15 Jun 2026

Free area snapshot on the map

When you search an address or drop a pin, the map now shows you real planning activity, radon risk, zoning and transport data for that location for free. No account or payment needed to see it.
